Experience the Magic of Winter at a SounDome Ice Music Concert in Imatra
During winter 2026–2027, SounDome ice music concerts will take place in the park of the historic Imatran Valtionhotelli, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the Imatrankoski Rapids.
SounDome is a unique musical experience where every note is played on instruments carved from ice. The snow- and ice-covered dome, the delicate, crystal-clear sounds of the instruments and the peaceful winter setting create a truly special atmosphere. The historic Imatran Valtionhotelli and the surrounding Imatrankoski landscape provide a memorable backdrop for the concerts.
During the approximately 30-minute concert, visitors can discover the fascinating sounds of ice instruments. Their delicate, almost mystical tones blend with the calm atmosphere of the dome, offering a moment to slow down and simply enjoy the music.
A SounDome concert is a lovely addition to a winter visit to Imatra. Afterwards, you can continue your evening with dinner or drinks at the nearby Imatran Valtionhotelli restaurant. Table reservations are recommended.
