Cabin by the Lake Valkiajärvi is located in a beautiful and tranquil area on the shores of the exceptionally clear Suuri-Valkiajärvi, 12 km from the center of Simpele . This charming site includes a traditional log cottage and lakeside sauna, built in the late 1940s by the Simpele factories, familiar to the locals. Additionally, there is a picturesque summer kitchen situated on a peninsula. The summer kitchen is equipped with a fireplace oven, a wood stove, an outdoor fire pit, and a smoke oven, ideal for smoking salmon, making coffee over an open fire, and cooking pancakes with ease.

By the lake, you’ll find a stunning, spacious, traditional wooden sauna that can accommodate up to 10 people at a time, offering wonderfully gentle steam. From the sauna terrace, you can step directly onto the dock and plunge into the clear waters of the lake. The sauna cabin is equipped with a wood stove, oven, hotplate, fridge, and dining table. It also has a fold-out sofa bed for two, making it a cozy space for overnight stays. The terrace is furnished to seat six.

The main cottage includes a small kitchenette with a gas stove and basic tableware. Place is warmly heated by a fireplace and wood stove, creating a cozy atmosphere. It has two fold-out sofa beds, providing sleeping space for up to four guests. Electricity is generated by solar panels, so please consider weather-dependent availability. Pets are also welcome. We respect the rustic spirit of this old wilderness cottage, so it is intentionally free of many modern amenities. The cottage is available for rental only during the summer season.
