Hiitolanjoki Koskikahvila Café is the perfect stop during your summer adventure in South Karelia. Located beside the beautiful Ritakoski Rapids in Rautjärvi, the café offers a relaxing place to enjoy delicious treats surrounded by stunning riverside scenery. The café is open daily from June to August (11 am–7 pm) and on Fridays to Sundays in May and September.
The café serves a wide selection of sweet and savoury pastries, coffee, refreshments and other seasonal treats. The cosy outdoor seating area is the perfect place to relax while listening to the soothing sound of the rapids and taking in the surrounding nature. You'll also find a small souvenir shop offering Hiitolanjoki-themed products and locally made gifts from regional producers.
Your visit is easy to combine with a walk along the Hiitolanjoki Nature Trail, which begins at Ritakoski and continues through beautiful riverside landscapes to Lahnasenkoski and Kangaskoski. Along the way, you can admire the rushing rapids, enjoy the diverse nature and stop by the nearby birdwatching tower.
Hiitolanjoki is one of South Karelia's most remarkable natural attractions and Finland's southernmost free-flowing migratory fish river.
