Hugo's smoke saunas offer a truly authentic smoke sauna experience in Rautjärvi, South Karelia—just a 30-minute drive from Imatra. Two hand-carved log saunas sit on the peaceful shore of Lake Rautjärvi, surrounded by nature and located near Hugo’s villas and the historic Hugo’s rectory.
The Smoke Sauna Experience
The saunas are pre-heated and ready upon arrival, so guests don’t need to worry about heating them themselves. They can be adjusted to your preference—hotter or more gentle. Changing rooms, washing facilities, and lockable storage are available in nearby cottages. After sauna, you can take a dip in the lake or hot tub—into the ice hole in winter, and the open lake in summer.
Public Sauna Evenings & Private Bookings
Public sauna evenings are organized regularly, with dates announced on social media. You can book your spot through the online booking calendar. Arrival times are flexible—come when it suits you best. Payment options include card, cash, and mobile payments via Smartum or Edenred.
Hugo’s smoke saunas are also available for private events, such as company wellness days, meetings, or celebrations. You can book one or both saunas for your group. If you reserve both, they can be heated to different temperatures or used separately for men and women. Each sauna has its own private beach area.
