Iloisen Pässin Maalaispuoti
Genuine local food along the way
Iloisen Pässin Maalaispuoti is a restaurant and café specializing in delicious bison burgers, located near highway 6 (Kuutostie) in Parikkala, on the eastern border of Finland.
In the atmospheric spaces set up in the old village shop, you can enjoy high-quality domestic food, which has been purchased as close as possible to all raw materials.
Almost all of the specialty meat used in the burgers comes from the local area and fish comes from the nearby lake. Buns are made in a local home bakery and vegetable steaks in our own kitchen. In addition to bison, delicacies such as mangalitza wool, lamb, pike and highland are on offer, not forgetting vegetarian food.
From our shop you can buy specialty meat as well as many other high-quality local products as well as beef. Our product range includes products from over 70 small producers. In addition to food products, we sell domestic ethical gifts and consumer goods such as eco-cosmetics and detergents, children's clothing and sheepskin.
During the summer, the pond's yard with our family's sheep and rabbits is a nice place to visit and see the animals.
Our other company Papinniemi Camping offers similar local food delicacies as well as accommodation on the sandy Pyhäjärvi beach in Parikkala's Uukuniemi.
