At Matikkala Cottages Ruokolahti you will find four great cottages for rent. The cottages Vaahtera, Kataja, Petäjä, Sirppi, Kääpä and the large villa cottage Pihlaja invite you to a relaxing holiday in the pure nature.
In connection with Pihlaja villa cottage, our customers can rent a barrel sauna and a lot, where you can relax and rest your mind and body.

A few hundred metres away is FreeSki. Its surroundings offer incredible views for running and jogging, and in winter for skiing, downhill skiing and even snowshoeing. Winter sports equipment can be hired from Freeski.
During the summer, there is a downhill biking centre Saimaa Bikepark on the Freeski slope.

The beach is about 500 metres from the cottages. There is a barbecue hut on the beach at the tip of the peninsula, which is only for the use of the cottages' guests.

The forests around Matikkala and ruokolahti are full of foraging opportunities, especially in autumn. You can pick blueberries, lingonberries and scales from the forest, not forgetting mushrooms.

Within a radius of about 5 km you will also find Ruokolahti's sports facilities, including a sports hall, sports fields and ice hockey rink. Within a radius of 25 km there are two spas, two golf courses, three bowling alleys, an ice rink, tennis courts and a football hall.
