Mellonlahti below Imatrankoski is an oasis near the Imatra city centre.

The nature trail starts from Valtionhotelli Park near the Imatrankoski Bridge and follows the ancient landscape of the Vuoksi River. Mellonlahti is located about 1 km downstream from the Imatrankoski Bridge. Today, Mellonlahti is isolated from the Vuoksi River by an embankment and forms its own biotic community since the waters of the Vuoksi River do not flow through it.

The nature trail is about 3 km long and has 22 checkpoints. Starting from Inkerinaukio, the Mellonlahti nature trail runs through Valtionhotelli Park to the rapids and then follows the shore down to Mellonlahti. As an additional walk, it is possible to visit the Mellonmäki lookout point. The starting information board is located in the park next to Inkerinaukio (Imatrankoskentie 1, 55100 Imatra).

The nature walk guide booklet provides information about the area's plants, birds, butterflies, Vuoksi fish, and cultural and historical sites. The walk follows an easy-to-follow network of paths. By car, you can get to checkpoint 9 by driving down Vellamonkatu. From checkpoint 9, people with reduced mobility can go north to checkpoint 5 and south-west to checkpoint 15.

Starting point: Inkerinaukio, Imatrankoskentie 1, Imatra
