Handmade food product that is based on a traditional family recipe of Karelian pie
A warm-hearted restaurant and café located on the shores of Lake Saimaa, in the Imatra harbor. The menu offers culinary experiences inspired by Karelian traditions and the Saimaa region.
The focus is on clean, Finnish primary ingredients that nourish both body and mind. Key values in both the products and the business are ethics, ecology, healthiness, and wonderful flavor combinations.
The display cases are filled with smaller savory and sweet treats—meat pies, pastries, coffee, delicious scooped ice cream portions, refreshments, and ready-made snack packs for boaters, beachgoers, and hikers.
Among the specialties are local Imatra rimpsus—rustic rye pies baked from a traditional recipe passed down by a local grandmother. In other words, perfected versions of the classic Karelian pie. Rimpsus are available in both savory and sweet varieties, including vegetarian and vegan options. In 2022, the blueberry-vanilla rimpsu by Rimpsu-Reetta won gold in the Finnish Artisanal Food Championships.
The menu also features sourdough pizzas, and lunch is served on weekdays from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
