Taipalsaari Church

There is no certain knowledge who was a designer and a builder of Taipalsaari church. There is only a suppose that it was Eskil Collanus from Sortavala. The church completed in the year 1754 but 50 years later ceiling structures needed to be reconstructed. At the same time the decoration of the church was repaired. When congregation begin to grow, the church became crambed. The church received its current appearance after renovation 1847. Instead of altarpiece the Taipalsaari church has a golden cross.

Serves as a road church during summer. Open also by prior arrangements.
