The Industrial Workers' Housing Museum
Historical housing museum
The museum is located by the River Vuoksi in Ritikanranta. Enso-Gutzeit Oy donated the area to the Imatra Town in 1972. The two buildings in the area were converted into museums in 1975. The rooms of the wooden residential building illustrate the housing types from the early 1900s to the 1960s. The stone-built outbuilding, which includes a sauna, has been restored to its original design. All fifth-grade students in Imatra visit the museum during organized activity tours.
Museum is also part of Saimaa UNESCO Global Geopark. Read more
