The Lappeenranta City Cycling Tour
Pleasant 12-kilometre-long bicycle route
The town of Lappeenranta is located on the shore of Saimaa and on Salpausselkä marginal formation. The city is the centre of South Karelia region, whose history extends beyond many centuries. History can be seen in the Fortress and the Provincial Museum, and at Rakuunamäki, which was named after the dragoon regiment.
Lappeenranta is easily accessible by bike. There are cycling paths nearly 300 kilometers, of which this route is chosen short section close to the center.
On this route there are activities for families with children in Myllysaari family park and in the vicinity of Finland's largest sandy beach near the harbor area.
There are several eating places in the harbor and Fortress area and in the city centre only a short distance from the harbor or train station.
