Western Saimaa's Fortress Cycling Tour

The cycling route focuses on the sites of the fortress chain that was built by the Russians at the end of the 1700s for the protection of St. Petersburg. The fortresses are known as the Suvorov fortresses, which are named after Russian General Alexandr Suvorov, who was responsible for their construction. They form three concentric fortress chains. This tour is particularly suitable as a 2-5-day-long trip for cyclists of all levels of experience and families, since there are lots of accommodation and restaurant services along the way, as well as interesting sights and experiences for even the youngest family members.
